Welcome to the Blog! Thanks for stopping by...please check back often for updates on recent shoots and photo adventures in the Reno/Tahoe area! =) Saints of the WestI just got back from cleaning the kennels and visiting the dogs at Saints of the West Rescue! There are a few new furry kids at the rescue so I brought my camera out and took new photos of all the dogs. Before we get to their photos here are some of the dogs who have been adopted since my last post...congrats to Callie, Benny, Willow and Trulley!
Tiny and Alaska also found homes but I missed getting photos of them! Here are the dogs at the rescue who are currently looking for homes....they might not all be ready for adoption yet so check with the rescue for more info! Buddy....smart boy! Knows sit and paw!
Pal....an old guy but still full of energy! Loves biscuits and attention.
Misty.... big loving girl!
Roxy....loves to get attention and pets!
Mandy...a little ball of energy and very smart!
Sara...loving little girl. She still needs a vet workup before she is ready!
Duke...sweet boy who knows sit and paw for treats! Also loves a belly rub! And I think he already has a family looking at him...yeah!
Charlie...so full of energy and fun! Loves to play ball. He has found his family and will be going home very soon! Yeah!

The MacLean FamilyMeet the MacLean Family....they were featured on the cover of the August issue of "The Good Life" Magazine for South Reno! Hawley and friend Tom have worked together to build a backyard railroad with over 3,000 feet of track which weaves around the yard, over bridges and ponds, through tunnels and even makes its way into the house! Each year Hawley's charity, Water and Rails, puts on a tour of backyard ponds and railroads and uses the money raised to give back to local charities. When he's not running the railroad, Hawley is running MacLean Financial and serving on the board of Heritage Bank. His girlfriend, Jill Savery, runs Bristlecone Strategies, a sustainability consulting company for sporting events and sports organizations. She also is an olympic gold medalist from the 1996 Atlanta games in synchronized swimming!
Thanks to Hawley and family for their participation in the magazine! Kymberlee and WadeMeet Kymberlee and Wade....they were featured on the cover of the August issue of "The Good Life" Magazine for Old Southwest Reno! Wade has his own company, Nevada Exploration, which studies the groundwater chemistry in relation to gold deposits. My husband and Wade have actually worked together at previous jobs as they are both geologists....Reno is such a small town! Kymberlee is also of the entrepreneurial spirit, owning her own consulting business, Winning Way for Life, along with being a consultant for doTERRA, an essential oil company. We had a fun photo shoot and their dog and horses even got in on the photo action!

If I had to sum up our trip in one picture, that would be the one. To date is it one of my most favorite photos I have taken. Many of you may not think that is a "typical" photo of Thailand. Where is the beautiful beach? The luxury resort? But that is not why I went to Thailand. I went to Thailand with 16 others from my church (Outlook Christian Church) to touch the lives of children there by teaching them English and showing them love. And that photo speaks volumes about the kids! Here are some of my other shots....of maybe the more typical Thailand:
And thankfully there were even some photos taken of me taking photos!
Last but not least I will never forget my trusty assistant Hin....he actually got some good shots!
When in Thailand.....
I read a blog post by David duChemin recently that hit home with me. He says "Live a great story. Not only a great life." What is your story? Are you proud of it? Can you make it better? Step out in faith and do something crazy. Give back to those in need. Spend time with your family. Love the unloved. Travel the world. Explore the community in your own city or town. You don't need to go to Thailand to have a great story.....you can make a difference wherever you are right now. You just have to take that step and make the commitment to make a difference! The Roelofs lucked out and the lupine were in bloom for their family photos! Brent is another one of my fellow BNI members....he is a chiropractor and owns Apex Chiropractic Center in Sparks. I highly recommend him if you're having back/neck pain and want to start feeling better today!
