Northern Nevada Hopes AIDS Run and Walk

August 21, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Last weekend I worked with Northern Nevada HOPES as a sponsor for their AIDS 5K Run, Walk and Paws for the Cause Dog Walk! It was a great event and they raised over $25,000 which will be used by local organizations to provide prevention, treatment and care for people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.

Here are a few shots from the event!

Start/Finish Line and sponsors!

5K runners lined up to race:

And they're off!

Walkers and dogs line up.....the dogs were of course my favorite part!

And here is the super awesome HOPES truck!

I enjoyed working with HOPES and am looking forward to future events with them! If you would like to check out more photos from the day you can view the full gallery here:

End of Summer Update

August 18, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Well it has been a bit since I posted last.....just busy with lots of things! Here is what I've been working on in the last month:

I did headshots for Shakeel, a member of my BNI group. He works for Pacific States Communcations.

Remember my post last month about the family who owns Batch? Here is my photo of them on the cover of their neighborhood magazine, "The Good Life"!

I also photographed the family for the September issue of "The Good Life" for Somersett and Caughlin Ranch but I'm going to wait to share their photos with you till I have the finished magazine cover! Tonight I'm off to shoot the October cover for the Arrowcreek/Montreux publication!

Next week I'm off to Portland and Seattle to shoot some photos for a navigation/GPS company! More on that when I get back!

Hope you all had an enjoyable summer! School already started here in Reno so it feels as though summer is really winding down. Fall is a great time for family portraits so give me a call if you are interested!

The Batch Cupcakery Family

July 16, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Have you been to Batch Cupcakery yet? They are located in Midtown Reno and also at Squaw Valley....I had seen their location at Squaw many times, but I have to admit that I have an addiction to Wildflour cookies and had never stopped in Batch  =(

Never fear, this has all changed! I had the opportunity to meet Anne, the owner of Batch, and photograph her and her family...they will be on the cover of the new neighborhood magazine for Somersett/Caughlin Ranch in August! Last week I went to the Midtown location and got some tasty treats......here are some photos to entice you to visit!

And here are photos of Anne and her lovely family.....I have to say that when she told me there were 8 kids I was a little worried, but they were so easy to work with! I think the most difficult part of the shoot was finding a time to get all of them together!

I had a great time photographing Anne and family and look forward to stopping into Batch to visit them often!

Little Kason

Kason turned one in May and his parents wanted some one year old photos of him....I had a great time taking photos of this cute little guy at the park (he LOVED the swings)!

Since 4th of July was coming up I also got a patriotic photo of Kason!

And of course when we went back to my house to do a few last photos Kiwi the dog was on hand to help! Good thing Kason loves dogs and Kiwi doesn't eat babies! HAHA!

Thanks to Kason's mom Chi for helping with the photoshoot and for supporting my business!

Indoor-Outdoor Headshots

July 02, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Two weeks ago I did headshots for Kara, who I met at BNI. She is a member of another BNI chapter in town but she visits our chapter quite often to sub for different people. Kara wanted two different shots.....the typical studio headshot and then something outside that was a little less formal and more fun! We had a great time taking outdoor photos at two different locations:

And then we went to my office to do the studio shot:

Kiwi (my Saint Bernard dog) was on hand to help with the studio set up and if she had her way she would have been in Kara's photo as well! Thanks Kara for your business and putting up with the big slobbery dog!
