Welcome to the Blog! Thanks for stopping by...please check back often for updates on recent shoots and photo adventures in the Reno/Tahoe area! =) The Lupine ProjectLast year my husband and I planted some lupine seeds after a trip to Tahoe where we saw them blooming all over the place. We were so excited when our lupine started blooming this year. They are a beautiful flower! My husband, Jason, suggested I take photos of them and not too long ago my friend Aaron suggested I should start a photo of the day project...and so the daily photo of the lupine flowers was born!
Week 2 of the Lupine Project in underway and will be posted on Friday. I will keep this project going until the flowers are done blooming. I am going to start doing more fun photo projects so stay tuned to the blog and my Facebook page for updates! HeadshotsLast week I was fortunate to do business with two of my fellow BNI members! Lori, from Chambers Group Inc., and Cory, from Mann Mortgage, both hired me to take headshots of themselves and their employees. With my new portable backdrop I was able to set up right at the offices for the photos! Thanks Lori and Cory for supporting photoWickum!
Photos with the Easter Bunny! In January my husband and I adopted a giant, lovable, slobbery Saint Bernard! She came to us from Saints of the West, a rescue in Reno that is dedicated to Saint Bernards! The rescue needs to do many fundraisers to support the cost of taking care of the dogs (check out the slobbery dogs available right now for adoption!). Last month they decided to do photos with the Easter Bunny at Petco and I volunteered to be the photographer for the event. It was a blast trying to get the dogs to look at the camera and not be afraid of the bunny! Only one dog refused to get his photo taken.....and he was the biggest dog that came by all day....a 6 month old great dane puppy! I told them to come back at Christmas for photos with Santa! Here is a family photo of my family and a few other favorites from the day!

Two beautiful great pyrenees make friends with Precious and the Bunny!
Even the Easter Bunny's own dog came to get his photo!
Nevada Humane SocietyI recently started volunteering at the Nevada Humane Society. I love animals and since I can't adopt them all, I thought I could offer my photography as a tool to help these pets find a good home. I met with Kimberly, the communications manager, at the Humane Society and she showed me around the facility. She had a special project for me on my first day there....Anabelle is a blind dog who actually has had both her eyes removed due to medical reasons. They wanted to get a photo of her with one of the staff members and use the photo to help her get adopted. Here is the photo:
A few days later the photo appeared on their Facebook page with info about cute Anabelle....and a few days after that there was another message....Anabelle had been adopted! I was thrilled that she had found a forever home and touched that in some small way my photo may have helped her find her home! I know photography can make the difference is these pets getting adopted....here are some other shots I got of dogs and cats that need homes! Check out the Nevada Humane Society for adoptable pets and how you can help! Thanks!
Bridgewater InternationalWell I'm a bit behind on blogging.....time to catch up! I was contacted by the CEO of Bridgewater International to do a shoot at the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort in South Lake Tahoe. It was a little different for me....no people! Just a kitchen and bathrooms to take photos of! I enjoyed doing the shoot and I hope to work with Bridgewater International again in the future.
